Prevalence of NoV in the catering environment in outbreak and non-outbreak premises
In collaboration with Environmental Health Officers and the Health Protection Agency’s Food, Water and Environment network, we will undertake a prevalence survey of NoV in the catering environment in outbreak and non-outbreak premises. This will allow us to assess the contribution of food handlers to contamination of the catering environment.
We will also collaborate with a parallel study with a social science focus that will investigate specifically food handlers in the workplace and in the home. This parallel study will be a closely co-ordinated and synergistic research activity within Work Package 5, which will investigate a sub-set of the premises/food-handlers within this Work Package.
